MISSION & VISION TO STAY THE BEST
NOVA Birth Partners is the parent company to several national birth + postpartum support divisions located in Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia, California, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Georgia, Texas and Florida.
Many of our classes and programs are private labeled for physician and midwifery groups, health departments, governmental organizations, private partners and now hospitals. We have many locations primarily located in District of Columbia (DC, Maryland (MD), and Virginia (VA). We are here to serve the community for all of their birth and postpartum support needs. Despite COVID-19, we are helping families more than ever to overcome the fears often in line with uncertainty. To date, we have had dozens of births since COVID-19 with even better results. We are laser-focused on helping with even more intensive support as needed.
We are the only birth + postpartum support provider affiliated with several hospitals and maternity care organizations in the DC Metropolitan area. For more than 2 years, more than 68% of our clients are direct referrals from the community including reputable physicians and midwives alike.
OUR MISSION
We are a comprehensive, collaborative birth + postpartum practice for all people regardless of the ability to pay.

MESSAGE FROM FAITH
It is funny how it has taken me over a year to craft a reasonable message to explain what NOVA Birth Partners is. What is it? Well, it had its beginnings in a foundational birth center local to Northern Virginia. The midwifery model of care became the main pillar that holds us up even today. What started as a solution to help out of hospital birth clients find doulas and childbirth education that served their unique population, evolved into a comprehensive, birth and postpartum system of support for all. We have served hundreds of families since we started several years ago. Now, with the addition of midwives to provide more options to our families, we are positioned to be a total solution from pre-conception to well beyond postpartum.
We do not discriminate in any regard. We celebrate all people --- no matter the ability to pay. If you are a sliding scale or free client, you receive the same level of care and service as any of our paid clients. I have donated my own time and personal money to ensure that all families equitably have a chance at the best birth outcome possible for their family.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
As a mom of 7, I made my way into fully supporting birthing families as a result of losing my first child at a very young age. I only decided to become a nurse as a result of lacking consistent skilled nursing care for her. As a new mother of a very surprise pregnancy that resulted in the birth of a child with devastating neurological impairments, I had not time to focus on heartache. Her life was not promised each and everyday I put her to sleep. Her need for awake and alert caregiving support 24/7 introduced me to the importance of nursing firsthand. Determination is no secret to me. At times, I was seriously scared she would not wake up. As a result of being fearful she would need emergent care while I was alone with her one night, I made the decision to enroll into nursing school when she was 9 months old. Amaya changed my life. At the age of 22, she was my reason for living. Being faced with medical providers telling me my child needed to be "taken home for comfort care until she passed away. She would most likely not live to be 6 weeks old," I fought for the opportunity to see her thrive despite the devastation of the loss of normalcy once she was diagnosed. I loved her with all I had. Losing her at 3 years and 3 months fueled me to support others in need of compassion in the medical community. READ MORE Here.
We never know what life is going to give us. But, we do know what we can contribute. NOVA Birth Partners is a legacy to my daughters (and my sons!) to have health care that is inclusive, respectful, and EQUITABLE for when they decide to start families of their own. Having the ability to funnel all profits from the outstanding support we receive to support our free classes and programs for families in need is truly amazing.
Together, our team has built the largest birth and postpartum practice on the east coast with midwives, birth doulas, postpartum doulas, babysitters, nannies, lactation consultants, maternal health-focused therapists, midwives, photographers, childbirth educators, and so much more ALL UNDER THE SAME ROOF. We are an integrated multidisciplinary practice that thrives on the ability to work together supporting the many hospitals, physicians, midwives, and clinical partners that recommend us and truly collaborate with us.
We are grateful for serving over 1500 families in 2019 alone in free and paid services combined.
With allegiances with hospitals such as George Washington University Hospital, Virginia Hospital Center, INOVA Health System, Birth Centers and others, we are proud to be the drivers behind finding solutions to health inequity, discovering ways to handle social determinants of health, while promoting and affirming informed consent for all families. Collaborative care is a requirement to ensure health access to all that is respectful, inclusive, and equitable. We are proud to be the chosen partner of area obstetrical care practices.
Our diverse team represents many nationalities, cultures, and demographics. One thing that is consistent: we are here to serve YOU.
