Krystin Chiellini
Birth Doula
Growing up I always had an interest in health, but my passion for women's health and birth has really blossomed over the last few years. After graduating from college, I started working in international development where I learned a lot about the field of maternal and child health. Last year I shifted my focus from a global to a community health perspective, as I began teaching parenting and prenatal classes to young parents in the DC area. Learning more about the maternal health crisis we have in the US, and seeing the disproportionate impact it has on the young women of color I work with drove me to birth work. Some amazing women in my life mentored me and told me about the role of doulas, and ever since my training I knew this was exactly the kind of work I wanted to do.

Outside of doula work and childbirth education, I'm currently taking classes at GW so that I can apply for an Accelerated BSN program, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife one day. I'm originally from Florida, I was a gymnast for 15 years, I love the beach, chocolate, and animals (I have a side "job" as a dog walker) and some of my hobbies include cooking, dancing, traveling and couponing :)

​I'm excited by the holistic, interpersonal and intimate role a doula gets to play during childbirth, and I look forward to meeting you and supporting you during your childbirth journey!
